What could be more cool than getting to spend a school day at the lake? Spending the school day with a host of fishermen, dedicated to helping children with special needs!
Our local lake was BLANKETED with individuals from every walk of life, giving of their time and talents, and patience to teach special needs children how to fish.
Isaac is only a kindergartener so this was his first fishing trip.
2 second touch, counts.
Sensory overload? Maybe a tad, but Isaac was totally brave and his fisher buddies were totally cool!
Add in ALL the snow cones you could eat!!!
And a bounce house!!!!
More snow cones,....very significant that Isaac chose blue instead of diet coke!!!!
Okay, if you've been reading this blog a while you know Isaac, and you know that Isaac could charm the hide off a rhinoceros. At the end of the event Isaac made friends with some firemen, who let our little guy cast a couple more times before he had to load into the school bus. Also another fisher-buddy, made a point to hunt us down so he could give Isaac his fisherman-towel for a souvenir. Isaac gave the man a thumbs up, a grin, and a signed and said, "Thank you."
Daddy got to go to the event as well, and we had a little family time on the beach - very peaceful, very quiet (away from the big group), and very happy memories for Isaac's first fishing trip!
We are so grateful to everyone who supports special needs charities. If you ever wonder if these charities make a difference or not,...we can assure you that they do. Thank you.
Until I post again,...may God bless and keep you!
